IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION FOR TRAVELLERS/TOURISTS VISITING

Satellite telephone services/handsets such as Thuraya, Irridium are prohibited in India. However, only Inmarset services are provided by Tata Telecommunications Services after a No Objection Certificate from Department of Telecommunications, Government of India on a case to case basis.
 
The unauthorized use of Thuraya and Irridium etc. will amount to seizure of equipments and the user will be prosecuted under section 6 of Indian Wireless Act and Section 20 of Indian Telegraph Act.
 

Visitors/Tourists to India, may therefore please note and avoid using such telephone sets in India.
