Instructions About Re-issuance Of Overseas Citizen Of India (OCI) Cards

Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, vide its Office Memorandum (OM) No: 26011/Misc/181/2019-OCI dated 16th April 2021 had conveyed that OCI cardholders shall have to get the OCI card reissued once a new passport is issued after completing 20 years of age. To avoid inconvenience to such OCI cardholders in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, MHA vide its OM 26011/Misc/181/2019-OCI dated 29th December 2021 has further extended the time for reissuance of OCI cards until 31st Decembr 2022. Such OCI cardholders will be allowed to travel on the strength of their existing OCI cards bearing old Passport number subject to the condition that the OCI cardholder will have to travel along with the new Passport.
