18th World Road Meeting (WRM 2017)

We are pleased to inform you that the International Road Federation (IRF), a non-governmental, not-for-profit think tank with its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland works to promote safe and sustainable roads and mobility across the world. Please, be informed that the IRF, Geneva is organizing the 18th World Road Meeting (WRM 2017) during 14 – 17 November 2017, in Delhi, India with the support of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRT&H), the Government of India.

The theme for the WRM 2017 is: “Safe Roads and Smart Mobility – The Engine of Economic Growth”.  The Exhibition at the WRM 2017 is an opportunity for business and industry to showcase innovative products, practices and technologies that can improve both safety and sustainability of roads and mobility, in an area encompassing around 7,000 sq.ft.

Session Focus:

·         The focus  will be on, “Eradicating Road Deaths by 2040” and it will help to define the parameters for the discussions during the World Road Meeting.

·         Progress towards the goals defined in the Decade of Action on Road safety has been slow, and much remains to be done to meet these goals. The meeting will provides countries with an ideal forum to showcase their progress in improving road safety and national best practices in addressing road safety. This will contribute immensely to further reducing deaths and injuries, resulting from traffic accidents, and to defining a realistic road map for the period after 2020.

·         The WRM 2017 will provide a forum for 4 days of Conference and Exhibition, both taking placing concurrently with focus on the theme of “Safe roads and Smart Mobility: The Engines of Economic Growth”. The WRM 2017 conference will help review the global as well as country specific strategies and to discuss the wide range of topics related to safe roads and smart mobility.
