U.P. PRAVASI DIVAS

The Government of Uttar Pradesh has embarked on an initiative to create a forum for building effective and meaningful relations and to strengthen the engagement of the overseas Indian community from Uttar Pradesh with the Government of U.P. and reconnect them with their roots.

As a major step in this direction, the Government of Uttar Pradesh is participating in the 15th Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas as the Partner State. The Diwas is being held on 21-23, January, 2019 in Varanasi. The theme of PBD Convention, 2019 is “Role of Indian Diaspora in building New India”. Special arrangements are also being made for participation of delegates in Kumbh Mela and Republic Day Parade.

On the side lines of the event the State is organising the 4th “U.P. PRAVASI DIVAS” on 21st January 2019 in Varanasi. The “U.P. PRAVASI DIVAS” function will be graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister , Shri Yogi Aditya Nath.

During the State Pravasi Diwas, selected overseas Indians will also be honoured with the prestigious Uttar Pradesh Ratna Award to recognize their contributions to various fields both in India and abroad. The registration process for award is open at the website: www.upnri.com

            The State is giving home stay facility with renowned families of Varanasi and is building a tent city to ensure comfortable and memorable stay for the participating delegates. Officers from the Government of U.P. have been instructed to accord high priority to matters that are reported or referred by the NRIs. The website for UNPRIs has already been launched (www.upnrigrs.in) by the Department to facilitate NRIs from U.P
