GLOBAL EXHIBITION ON SERVICES (GES) 2019

We are pleased to inform you that the 5th edition of Global Exhibition on Services (GES) 2019 is being organised by Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India in partnership with the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) from 18th to 20th September 2019 at the Palace Grounds, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

 

Services are the key driver of global trade. In terms of contribution towards GDP, FDI, exports and employment generation, services are becoming increasingly salient both in developed and developing countries. In India too, the services sector has been contributing significantly to India’s gross value added with a share of about 60% and India’s overall exports with a share of 38% in the recent yeas. The sector is expected to contribute more than US $ 3 trillion to $5 trillion economy that India is projected to be by 2025.

 

Recognizing the importance of this sector, the first GES was organised in 2015 by Government of India with an objective of providing a global platform for increasing trade in services, enhancing strategic cooperation and strengthening multilateral relationship between all stakeholders to explore new business avenues. The GES 2018 was a huge success with participation from about 100 countries, 500 overseas delegates, over 628 exhibitors and more than 7000 structured B2B Meetings.

 

The upcoming GES 2019 will provide a platform for forging sustained partnerships amongst countries in the 12 identified champion services sectors. These include Information Technology (IT), Tourism and Hospitality Services, Medical Value Travel, Transport and Logistics Services, Accounting and Finance Services, Audio Visual Services, Legal Services, Communication Services, Construction and Related Engineering Services, Environmental Services, Financial Services and Education Services. This event is expected to have delegates from about 100 countries and business leaders from Indian services Industry. The event will host exhibitions, focused knowledge sessions and a large number of B2B, B2G and B2C meetings.
