India Day for orphan children

The Embassy of India organized an India Day for 50 Lebanese children from three orphanages in Beirut (Home of Hope, First Step Together Association, and Dar el Aytem al Islamia) in collaboration with Richard Nakhle, President for Tourism Discovery Charity. A representative of the Director General of Internal Security Forces, Miss Kessarwan Chantal Nakouzi and Judge Mrs. Mirna Kalass, were also present.

The children were shown a power point presentation on India, interalia highlighting the similarities between Indian & Lebanese cultures. A variety of Indian snacks were served to them as Bollywood songs were played on screen in the background. The children were also provided with paper and colouring material which they used to represent the Indian tricolor and express their feelings about India. Small gifts, representative of traditional Indian handicrafts, and paper flags of India were also distributed to all present. The children responded with great enthusiasm & appreciation for India and its culture.
