Donation of office equipment by the Embassy to the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Embassy of India made a donation of office equipment to the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs today as part of its continuing assistance to Lebanon in light of the devastation caused by August 4 blasts in Beirut.

 

The donation was handed over by Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan to the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs today. The equipment were received by Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Charbel Wehbi. H.E. Minister Wehbi expressed gratitude to the Government of India for this kind gesture and reiterated strong India-Lebanon relations. Ambassador Dr. Khan said that such a gesture will further strengthen bonds of friendship and trust between India and Lebanon.

 

Later, Ambassador Dr. Khan also met with Secretary General of MOFA Hani Chemaitelly who also extended his profuse thanks to Government of India for this timely and useful assistance.

 

This is the third tranche of assistance provided by the Government of India to Lebanon. Earlier in August, Government of India flew in special Air Force Plane with 58 MT of relief supplies consisting of food and other relief materials in the immediate aftermath of August 4 blasts. Later, the Government of India also donated 70 boxes of PPEs to the Lebanese Ministry of Health to fight the menace of Covid-19 pandemic.

 

Ambassador Dr. Khan also discussed bilateral issues and various issues of mutual interests during his meetings with H.E. the Minister and H.E. Secretary General today.
