Mahaparinirvan Diwas 2022

The Embassy observed the Mahaparinirvan Diwas, 2022 and organized a photo exhibition on life of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar at Sant Ravidas Gurudwara, Beirut on 11th December, 2022.

On this occasion, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan garlanded the statue of Dr. Ambedkar followed by all India based officers of the Indian Embassy. The statue was installed and inaugurated on the birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar on 17 April, 2022 with the combined efforts of the Mission and Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Sant Ravidas Gurudwara. and with the help of the Mission. Indian Community members also paid floral tributes and prayers to Baba Saheb. A special aarti was also performed in the fond memory of Baba Saheb by Sh. Ram Swaroop Jee, an eminent member of the Gurudwara joined by all Indian Community members present there.

Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan addressed the gathering of Indian Community members and thanked Shri Ram Swaroop Jee for organizing the event. Ambassador mentioned about the contributions made by Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar in drafting the Indian Constitution. He also shared his insights at length on the life and his remarkable contributions in the social reforms, equality and justice in India. Ambassador also briefed the Community about Embassy's various consular services and assured necessary help by the Embassy team in all consular issues. The photo exhibition on life of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar was also inaugurated by Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan. Indian Community members observed the photo exhibition and get enlightened about the important occasions of life of Dr. Ambedkar. The event was attended by more than 200 members of the Indian community.

A consular camp was also organized by the Consular Team headed by Sh. Ajay Kumar, SS(Cons) after the event. More than 10 persons with their queries came for help to the consular team and suitable guidance has been given in this regard.
