Project Inauguration Ceremony - provision of generator set for Burghuz village in Hasbaya area of South Lebanon

Ambassador inaugurated the ceremony held on 19 December 2019 for provision of generator set for Burghuz village in Hasbaya area of South Lebanon. The generator set of 35 KVA was purchased by INDBATT to supply to Burghuz village under the Quick Impact Project funded by the Government of India through Embassy of India in Lebanon and INDBATT- XXI. The project will go a long way in assisting the local population to provide essential water supply for farming, households and also cater for the basic power needs of the village. Providing humanitarian assistance is one of the important task undertaken by Indian Contingent as part of UNIFIL to strengthen the relations with the local populace and to bring peace and stability in South Lebanon. The ceremony was attended by Mayor of Hasbaya, Mayor of El Fraidiss, Mayor of Rachaya al Foukhar, Superintendent of Hasbayya, UNIFIL Sector East Commander, Contingent Commander, INDBATT and other civilian dignitaries of South Lebanon, LAF & UNIFIL personnel.
